Regular Season 2017 Spring
2017 Spring x Regular Season

Welcome parents, players and fans to the 2017 TJFL Blue Devils season.

I'd like to stress that all coaches are volunteers and are not paid. We donate all our time for the love of the game. We are commented to the team. We expect that you the parents are commented as well.

The health and well being of our players is a priority with me! I need to know about allergies, asthma, diabetes and any other health issues that may affect our player! Emergency cards will be filled out for coach’s and team mom’s use in the event of an emergency.

Things that we teach our players are respect, of themselves and others on and off the field, manners, courtesy and sportsmanship.

Dress for the weather. Remember that when the sun goes down it gets cold quickly.

Bring water. Always bring water to practice. Make sure you mark your water bottle. I am not responsible for your bottle.

I was raised “That if you were 15 minutes early you were on time and if you were on time you were late.” That being said I will start practice at 1730 (5:30 pm) practice will end at 1930 (7:30 pm).

I will talk with any parent before or after practice. Notice I said talk. If you yell or use profanity at me the discussion is over and will not be reopened.

I have a few rules for parents and fans.

1. Never degrade any player even if they are yours.

2. Don't coach from the sidelines whether it is at practice or a game.

3. There is to be no cursing on the sidelines. Do not curse at the officials, coaches or players. Use of the “F” bomb will get you ejected from the sidelines whether it is at a game or practice.

4. Parents and or guardians are not allowed on the field of play or practice without being asked.

5. Notification must be made to head coach before practice or game if your player is unable to play. Please do this as early as possible.

6. The use of drugs or alcohol is forbidden. You will be ejected.

7. NEVER USE CHLORINE BLEACH ON THE UNIFORM! Also do not wash pads in pants.

8. Do not alter uniform in any way.

9. Parents and/or guardians are not allowed in the player’s box during a game.

10. Never bother the cheer teams on our side line they paid to cheer. They have from the 10 yard line to the end of the end zone.

Players’ rules

First thing I would like to say is that school is MORE important than football. Parents please keep me informed of homework and grades. My own are not allowed to play unless they maintain a “B” average.

1. Show respect to your coaches, parents and teammates. Answer “yes sir” not “yeah” “no coach” not “nope”. The same is expected of you when answering your parents.

2. When a coach is speaking you are listening. That means no talking.

3. Do not remove strap from your mouth piece. The officials are looking for it.

4. Dress for the weather. It gets cold when the sun goes down.

5. Bring your own water. Make sure it is well marked and you know it is yours. Coach is not responsible for your water bottle.

6. It is mandatory for you to keep up on all your school work. This includes not only homework but classroom work as well.

Dates to remember:

March 11 Equipment handout.
March 18 Picture day. No practice.
March 25 First game.

Thank you for your time.
