Broncos

Regular Season 2015 Fall

Broncos 28– Steelers 0

In the 1st round of this year’s playoffs the Broncos faced off with the Steelers. The game started with the Broncos defense on the field and they immediately set the tone with big bruising hits. The stingy defense only allowed two 1st downs. They never let the Steelers get their running game going and had 3 interceptions with 1 returned for a touchdown. Tank had his biggest game of the year with 12 tackles and 2 forced fumbles.

With Riley fighting a stomach bug the offense struggled a little and the tough Steeler defense surely came to play. But Riley was able to fight through the discomfort and run for 127 yards and 1 td and 2 exp. And also pass for 1 touchdown

The Broncos fought through some adversity Saturday and that was a good way to start the playoffs. Now its on to the Eagles who eliminated the Broncos in the 2nd round playoff match up last year and were the only team to score on the Broncos this year.

Playoffs are here

The team is peaking at the right time the playoffs have arrived. 1st up will be the Steelers who we faced in week 2 and beat 39 -0, but they are a much better team and the Broncos will have to bring their best game to the field or they could go home.

Broncos 31 Cardinals 0

The Broncos wanted to end the season with a big win and knew that if they could shut out the Cardinals they would set a team record for least points allowed. With only 1 practice they started off a little slow but that would soon change with the power running of Riley and the speed of Fabian. Both RB’s got 2 touchdowns and Fullback Tank got 1. The offensive line which has really come together over the last 2 games had a great day opening gaping holes in the Cardinals defense.

But in usual Bronco fashion it was all about the DEFENSE led by “X” the continued to stuff the running game and didn’t allow a single pass. The defense has had 8 games and in 7 of them they have allowed 2 or less 1st downs.  Since the loss in week six the entire defense has followed X’s lead and hit harder and meaner then ever. They are driving opponents to the ground and forcing fumbles.

Playoffs are here lets do the BRONCOS

Broncos 14 Titans 0

Broncos back in the win column !!!!

Coming off their 1st loss of the season Broncos coaches went back to basic, spending the majority of all 3 practices focusing on tackling and blocking. Coaches also spent less time going over the Titans and more time fine tuning the Broncos and boy did it show on Saturday against the Titans. Both teams were 5-1 both had lost to the Eagles. The winner of the game would win the Western conference and more importantly the bragging rights in this teacher verses student rivalry.

At half time the score was 0-0 a great defensive battle that was extremely physical. But towards the end of the half the Broncos coaches found a chink in the Titans armor. The second half started with a 4 and out for the Titans. Then the Broncos offense rolled off a 13 play drive for the 1st score of the game. Then 10 plays later they punched it in again on a 30 yard run by Riley.

The brutal Broncos defense only allowed the Titans two 1st downs and was led by X with 12 tackles, 2 sacks and 3 forced fumbles, followed by Double A with 9 tackles.  The stingy defense has only allowed 18 point in 7 games and could set a team record next week.

Broncos 0 - Eagles 18

The Broncos felt the bitter sting of a loss this week. The offense just couldn't get rolling. There were big plays and drives but the Eagles defense held the high scoring Broncos out of the end zone for the 1st time this year.

On the defensive side the Broncos would shut thing down for 3 plays and then there would be a broken play and the Eagle drive would continue. It was a tough loss to a good Eagles team

Broncos 49- Lions 0

In week 5 the Broncos pounced in the Lions early and never let up. The Broncos high powered offense racked up over 350 yards in 31 plays before referees stopped the game via mercy rule. Qb Double A was 4-6 with 1 TDS , 3-2 point conversions and 64 yards rushing and 2 rushing touchdowns. With Riley rushing for 182 yards and 2 TDs he also threw for 1 TD.

The stingy brutal defense had 2 strip sacks, 1 interception and allowed only 2 1st downs  the leading tackler was X with 10 followed by Double A 8 and Scooter 7 Fabian had a great game with 2 strip sacks and Logan picked off 1

It was another great team effort

Broncos 33 - Texans 0

Broncos 33 - Texans 0

In week 4 the Broncos came out flat and sluggish on a hot Saturday afternoon game. It wasn’t until their 2nd drive that the Broncos would score. Every drive was just a little off but the Broncos boys were still able to rack up 33 points against a tough defense who really came to play.

Fabian led the rushing attack with 93 yards and 1 touchdown and QB Double A punched it in the end zone 2 times  and Oller had 1 rushing TD.

But again for the 4th week in a row the tough Broncos defense  shut out another opponent and only allowed 1 first down.  The Texans who tested the middle found out that the munchkins at nose were much tougher then they look and X led all tacklers with 9,   Oller had a pick six in the 4th quarter which sealed the deal making the Broncos a perfect 4-0 on the season

Broncos 39 Giants 0

In week 3 the Broncos rolled over the Giant 39-0

The Broncos started the week in scramble mode after finding out that QB double A was most likely out with pneumonia. Then 1 hour before the game finding out that Left tackle Giggles was not going to even be at the game.  This meant that fullback Owen, back up RB Logan and tight end Cletus a had to really step up all 3 young men answered the challenge with great performances. Owen led the team well and was 1 -1 with a 2 point conversion  passing and had 36 yards rushing.  Logan opened the game with a 30 yard kickoff return and 39 yards rushing and a lot of good blocks. Cletus did a very good job moving to guard and Stick did a good job at left tackle. It was a great team effort in a game that could have easily been a disaster the boys came together and did a fantastic job. With only 18 players depth is always an issue and apparently the Broncos have depth and there will be no question about the heart of this team.

On the defensive side of the ball the Broncos continued their streak of shut outs and only allowed 1 1st down forced 3 fumbles and recovered 2 they had 4 sacks and 7 tackles resulting in negative yards.  The vicious defense was led by the munchkins in the middle Scooter and Gabe who were in the backfield on almost every play

Broncos 39 - Steelers 0

Broncos steel curtain defense shuts out Steelers 39-0

In the 2nd game of the season the Broncos 1-0 faced the Steelers 1-0. From the start the Broncos took charge of the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and never looked back. QB double A only had 48 yards rushing but managed 2 touchdowns, 1 PAT and was 1-3 for 1 yards with 1 int. While Fabian sped his way to 100 yrds and 3 tds   to be the offensive player of the game

But it was” X” who stole the show in today’s game with 12 monster tackles and 1 pass defended the tough little middle linebacker and center was rocking Steeler ball carriers from all angles and completely shut down the inside run game.

It was a great team effort and  coaches couldn’t be prouder of the entire team who fought through the heat and came out on top for the 2nd week in a row

Broncos 45 - Dolphins 0

The Broncos kept the streak of opening day wins alive today and started the season with a huge win over the Dolphins. The offense gained 359 yards of total offense before ending the game 3 plays into the 4th quarter. It was a brutal assault on both sides of the ball, the defense only allowed one 1st  down with 1 interception  1 fumble recovery. Coaches couldn’t have asked for a better start

2105 PARENT LETTER

Broncos Parent letter

Welcome to the Broncos

I am Coach Scott Bradley, my assistants are Greg Sampson, and Rob Annis on the defense and Ray Sutter,  Brad Thiesen and Jim Oller helping out on both sides of the ball . Team Moms Tina Walters and Roxanne Strand and they would love help. We all volunteer our time for your players. I have been coaching in TJFL since 1992. I have no children on the team and because of that every non X player has the opportunity to try out for every position. The best player in the coach’s opinion will play in each position. Ultimately every player will have a starting position. If your player wants to be a QB or RB he has to earn it and players can start at a position and lose it to someone else.

I am very dedicated to fundamentals and conditioning, we will hit a lot and we will do some tough drills.   We are typically a smash mouth jamb it down your throat football team. We are going to try to bring out the vicious side of your player every practice. Some players will wish to quit after a few days your support will prevent that. We do not want any player to quit and will try to explain to them that it will get easier. Your player may have played before but with the Broncos players will be coached.  I believe we as coaches must find each players strengths and weaknesses and strive to make them better every practice Our 1st goal is to learn to play football. As Broncos we are expected to make the playoffs, we may have a loss or 2 and that’s ok but our 2nd goal to win the Turkey Bowl.

If you have concerns about something coaches are doing talk to me before or after practice away from the players. Questions are great but Yelling at me will end our conversation, so will bashing other players on the team.

I expect all players to sell all 50 raffle tickets  it is not an option and more if you can. Historically the Broncos have been a top selling team in the league. It a competition and I expect us to win. I expect my players to keep their grades up and behave at home and school, and upon parents requests I will take disciplinary actions. School will never take a back seat to football.

We will be practicing at the Thornton Sports Complex in the very back of the parking lot. We will practice starting on Monday 3rd, Tuesday, Thursday all 6pm -8pm

Equipment hand out will be AUGUST 8TH at the equipment shed 1301 Elmwood Lane  be there at 10:00 am Be sure to wear light clothes (shorts) and flip flops or sandals the players will put on their game pants before leaving the shed. No hats If you plan on cutting your hair do it before equipment hand out.

After we get our equipment for the remainder of August we will practice Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6pm -8pm We have a scrimmage on the 22nd from 8 am -12 pm. Starting in September we will go to Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 6pm – 8pm for the rest of the season. With games on Saturday and one Friday night game to be determined

I expect parents and player to take this commitment very seriously, and be at all practices and games and arrive at least 10 minutes before every practice and be in full pads with practice pants and the practice jersey on. Players missing practice could miss playing time on game day your player joined a team sport.  On Game days all players need to show up 1 hour prior to the scheduled game time.

WATER / SPORTSDRINKS ARE VERY IMPORTANT BRING  LOTS OF THEM TO ALL PRATICES DEHYDRATION CAN KILL PLAYERS. Players must have 1-2  bottles of water per practice. Water will be at all games but you can also bring your own

Before each game we have a quick team prayer it is as simple as possible, it goes like this.

Dear Lord, please bless all the players on this field, keep them safe and help them play to the best of their ability.

Amen

I am not trying to push any religion and in no way am intending to offend anyone. It is just who I am and what we do.

During the course of the season players will suffer injuries. They coaches will handle all injuries. If an injury warrants it we will call you on to the field or practice field. We are trying to bring out a toughness that all players do have but if mom runs to the rescue for every owie they won’t get tougher . So I explain to the players there are football injuries and owies. An injury means a concussion, broken bones sprained ankle or other more serious injuries. An owie is a bruised hand, stepped on, jamb fingers and cuts. At no time will we take any chances with neck or back injuries and if I suspect your player has a concussion you will need to take them to the doctor and he’ll need a release saying he’s ok to fully participate youth football and I see no need to take a chance with their brain. There are specific guidelines that the CDC requires us to follow after a concussion. I am under the belief that because this is youth football and they have a whole lifetime ahead of them 1 concussion should end the season. I cannot require you to pull your child after a concussion but I will require players to comply with the recovery process implemented by the CDC.

Remember this is your players youth football we want to make it as much fun as possible and we will work together to make it memorable and affordable. My system works very well and has for a long time. We will not burden you with fundraising for the team we only do a touchdown bucket

I have already bought the socks every player needs to buy 1 pair they are orange and blue bumble bee style this year and the total is $6.00 and players are to wear them at games.

I have a few rules for parents but the Main one is be a fan of your player and team cheer, chant “defense” or just make noise and be a great sport and example.

1.  No parents are allowed on the field during practice they must stay outside the fence.

2.  If you wish to coach you need to fill out the application and pass a background check get concussion certified .  Then we can talk

3.  If you are not a coach you will have no input on anything that happens on the field. So do not make any suggestions and do not undermine the coaches.

4.  Never make any comments to the referees ever this only ends bad for you I will handle the

Refs, if you get the team a penalty you will be removed from my sideline
