Ok with the 2011 season behind us and 2012 on the horizon there are going to be a few changes. All the seminoles in the 3rd and 4th grade will be staying together and be placed with a new head coach TBD with a new name TBD but at least you'll still be together and that is a great thing. The 5th and 6th graders will be staying with coach Scott Bradley and our new name will be the Seahawks.
Be sure to sign up early as there are only 120 spots per division and I wouldn't want anyone to be left out
The Seminoles went into this playoff game ready and wanting to advance to the championship. The boys started out a little rough fumbling 2 times in the 1st offensive possession, but the defense never gave or even bent allowing only one 1st downs forcing 4 fumbles and 1 interception
Offensively Taylor had his biggest game of the year with 79 yards including a 48 yard touchdown run. Skully (4 tds), Matt (1) and Warren(1) also had touchdowns in what turned out to be a very good offensive showing
Spring Bowl 1 here we come
It came down to a coin toss to decide who would be 1st and 2nd and 3rd and 4th. The results were as follows
1st Hokies 5-1
2nd Seminoles 5-1
Aztecs 1-5
Warriors 1-5
So Seminoles we will be playing the Aztecs again for the opportunity to go to the 1st ever TJFL Spring Bowl and don't think for a second that the Aztecs are taking it lightly and neither should we. It is a brand new season and if you lose your done.
It took 1 play for Skully to break away for a 38 yard touchdown the first of 4 rushing Tds and 155 yards rushing. But it was the defense who really made the difference led again by Woods and Taylor both with 8 tackles and Bear and bulldog with 7 tackles. The stout defense only gave up 2 first downs and pitched its 2nd shutout of the season
On a fun note linebackers Bulldog had 3 carries 12 yrds rushing and 1 extra point and Crunch 6 yards rushing, d lineman Bear gained 3 yards and corner LT had 9 yards. Qb Warren connected with fullback Matt for a 10 yard touchdown passin the second quarter
great job boys
SEMINOLES 44 WARRIORS 6
It was the Kickoff team who allowed the only points scored against the Seminoles this week. The defense lead by Woods 9 tackles and a complete shut down on the left side and Bear with 6 tackles, only allowed 1 first down and no pass completions with 3 interceptions by Skully with 1 returned for a touchdown.
On the offensive side the improving ofensive line opened holes allowing all 4 running back to score one touchdown and Matt and Skully to score 2 each.
it was the perfect way to come out of the bye week and start our charge for the play-offs
In what was by far the most physical game of the year, the Seminoles defense stepped up the the challenge holding the Hokies to only 2 scores. With the offense finding the end zone 3 times.final score
Seminoles 19 - Hokies 13
I am very proud of the Seminoles boys, played a good game and really came together as a team. Great teams overcome adversity and Saturday yo did just that. If you play every game the same way you will be very hard to stop. Good job boys
O line opens way for Seminoles backs
The Seminoles offensive line opened holes all day, allowing Skully to find the end zone 4 times and Woods once. But it was the Seminoles defense who only allowed 1 score, that stood like champions on our battlefield. Plugging up the middle was Crunch and Bulldog and the D-line, with Woods and Taylor sealing the outside.
